Macan GTS Coming to SA!
This morning I woke up to a Whatsapp message from a brand new industry colleague at Porsche, he sent me the hot off the press news about the Macan GTS coming to South Africa. It does look like I’ll get to drive this Macan and other Porsches in the coming months so I’ll let you know how that goes! Until then here is a little write up by our new intern, Kundi

The new Porsche Macan is the baby in the family and is currently, the best-selling Porsche globally. Because it’s the most cost-effective Porsche money can buy, it’s the easiest way to get into the Porsche lifestyle. This new model though carries the prestigious GTS badge.
Mechanical upgrades include stiffer suspension for improved stability in corners and under the bonnet the Macan GTS has a 2.9 litre Biturbo V6 which now delivers 324kW and 550NM.
This is an increase of 44kW over the older GTS. It does 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds and all the power goes through a 7-speed Porsche PDK transmission. The Macan GTS now tops out at 270km/h.
Changes to the exterior are a reshaped front grille, revised rear diffuser, new LED headlights, and larger wheels with 7 new different designs. Inside, there’s a redesigned center console with touch-sensitive haptic icons and a smaller gear selector. It also now has a 10.9-inch infotainment display. All of this makes for a cleaner and less cluttered interior.
With its sharper exterior design, a revised interior, and more importantly, that extra 44kW, have Porsche hit the nail on the head with this new Macan GTS? At a price point of R1 551 000, it certainly does look that way.
The updated Macan will arrive in South Africa in January 2022.
